Growing a beard is often associated with manliness and growing up and plenty of other things that differentiates men from women, but not being able to grow a beard or having a slow growth of the beard can have some serious damage on one's self confidence.
Not being able to grow a beard affects mostly young men and teenagers, since growing a beard is linked essentially to genetics and may differ from one person to another, some guys may grow a full beard as teenagers while other may be 30 years old before growing a beard.
So how does facial hair growth affect men according to age
TEENAGERS AND HIGH SCHOOL KIDS
Teenagers who can’t grow a beard while in high school tend to feel different and inferior to the ones who can and they feel kind of rejected especially among girls, this phase can be troubling to some guys and it may even shape their behavior and personality for the years to come.
Teenagers aren't supposed to grow full beards at this early age but signs of facial hair do rise and show among some and at this difficult age especially if the teenager is being bullied for not having facial hair can develop some signs of depression and isolation.
Isolation and depression may sound too big of a deal for facial hair but when associated to other external factors not being able to grow a beard can lead to severe consequences on a man's self confidence and esteem.
YOUNG MEN AND COLLEGE STUDENTS
The bullying is not restricted to high school kids it does grow with people and college students are actually exposed to bulling in ways far more dangerous than young kids.
For a young man of 20 to 25 years old not being able to grow a beard is really a big deal since the college phase is when young men tend to try new things and mostly try letting their beard grow.
To be rejected in college or to be bullied or even bothered yourself about growing facial hair can affect how the young men shapes his personality how will he deal with other problems he will encounter in the next few years, college years are generally the most important years in an educated person's life and he definitely has a lot to deal with and to be thinking about rather than have self confidence issues over facial hair, but yet it is not up 100% to the person itself to make it an issue but it's the entourage that may cause harm to one's personality through this beard inferiority that he feels.
GROWN MEN AND PATCHY BEARD
we can't actually say a grown man that can't grow a beard we are more speaking of other beard issues like slow growth of the beard or patchy beard that doesn't cover the whole face.
This is a problem too for some men even a mature person could feel some insecurities about their beards.
And no shave November is one of the obvious exemples of people making fun of others with patchy beards or trying to show off, while it's not even about beard in the first place.
So what to do if you can't grow a beard as kid or a young man or have slow hair growth or even a patchy beard?
Physically there isn't much you can do about it, but accepting yourself is the most important thing to do, this is something we don't control just like skin color height and other genetic things that separates us one another.
There is no man without a beard it does eventually if given the time and care grow thicker by the time but still a patchy or little beard cannot define who a person is.
Give your beard a break wait for it and grow that beard once it shows up and enjoy it, no one is perfect the one who has got a full beard at the age of 15 will certainly have something missing or not as perfect as he would.
